What is the Ohio edchoice scholarship?
The Educational Choice Scholarship (EdChoice) Program provides students from designated public schools the opportunity to attend participating private schools. The program also provides students who are entering kindergarten through 12th grade scholarship opportunities based on different eligibility criteria.
The scholarship amount is $6,166 for grades K–8 and $8,408 for grades 9-12. Families with a household income at or below 450% of the federal poverty level (FPL) are eligible to receive the full scholarship amount. Families above this income level will qualify for a pro-rated scholarship.
Please note that the EdChoice Scholarship only applies to school tuition and not additional school fees. Families are responsible for covering school fees. The breakdown of NCS fees can be found here.
How to apply for the edchoice scholarship?
The application period for the 2025-26 academic year is now open. Before families can apply for the scholarship, they must be accepted and fully enrolled at NCS. After a family has completed the online enrollment process, our NCS EdChoice Scholarship Coordinator will reach out with the next steps.
What information is needed to apply for the scholarship?
Parents will need to provide NCS with a copy of the student's birth certificate, a copy of current proof of address less than 90 days old and the Scholarship Request Form to apply for the scholarship. Additional information such as notarized letter, custody documentation or foster care information may be needed for determining student eligibility for a scholarship.
HOW WILL PARENTS/GUARDIANS BE NOTIFIED OF THE STATUS OF THE APPLICATION?
The application information will be reviewed within 14 days. NCS will be notified within 14 days if errors or deficiencies have been identified. Please contact us at scholarships@ncslions.org regarding any questions about the application. Awarding of scholarships will be done periodically and an award letter and acceptance form are mailed to the parents/guardian. Parents/Guardians can monitor their student’s application(s) through the online parent portal.
