Kindergarten, Primary Music

Mrs. Luanne Hacker graduated from The Ohio State University majoring in Elementary Education. She has taught 2nd grade, 2nd and 3rd combined, and Kindergarten. Her service at Northside began in 1980.

Mrs. Marcie Reagan graduated in 1986 from Bob Jones University with a B.S. in Speech Education and a minor in English. She began teaching at Northside in 2004. She served as a substitute teacher in Michigan and Ohio. Her favorite verse is I Corinthians 10:31.

K4 Aide

Mrs. Maria Bryant, is a NCS parent and a member of Calvary Bible Church. Along with her role as a K4 Teacher’s Aide, at Northside Christian School, Maria serves teaching the Primary children’s class on Sunday mornings and the Pre K-K5 children’s program on Wednesday nights at Calvary Bible Church. Maria’s favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 2:2.

Mrs. Vanessa Golden is a graduate of Appalachian Bible College where she met her husband, Nathan. She is also an NCS parent and member of Providence Church in Westerville.

Mrs. Joy Haines graduated in 1983 from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College with a B.S. in Bible and another B.S. in Secondary Education. Her service at Northside began in 2000. She had previously taught at Faith Baptist Christian School in St. Paul, MN. Her favorite Bible verse is Romans 5:8.

Mrs. Hill graduated from Geneva College in 2015 and has most recently worked as a teacher at Grace Early Childhood Center. Mrs. Hill has been married for 5 years to Wes Hill, who is an NCS graduate! Mrs. Hill has also served on staff at Peniel Bible camp for over 15 years.

Student Support Advocate

Ms. Norris graduated from Bob Jones University in 2009. She has moved to Columbus from Buffalo, New York, where she has taught for 10 years in the lower education department. Ms. Norris is currently working toward her Master’s of Education degree in Teaching and Learning and is excited to use her newly attained skills and training to serve students in unique ways.

1st Grade

Mrs. Linda Norris has a B.S. in Elementary Education from Northland Baptist Bible College. She taught for three years before she became a stay-at-home mom. During her 17 years at home with her five children she kept her passion to teach fresh through a home tutor business. In answer to her prayer, God put Linda back into the classroom in 2005. After two years God provided a teaching position at Pioneer Christian School in Dunbar, WI. During her five years at Pioneer she had the privilege of teaching first and second grade as well as mentoring college students preparing to teach in their own classrooms. Psalm 78:5-7 are some of her favorite verses.

Mrs. Beth Yorty has been in education for eight years, five of which have been in fourth grade. She is a graduate of Ohio Dominican University with an Elementary Education degree and Reading Certification. She has three grown children who attended NCS during their high school years. She has also been actively involved in children’s ministries at Calvary Bible Church for over 20 years.

K-7 Technology Teacher

Mrs. Elaine Faieta began teaching at Northside in 2015. She is a 1988 graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Education. Previously, she taught at Calvary Baptist Academy in Alabama and Liberty Christian Academy in Columbus. In addition, Elaine homeschooled her five daughters for many years. One of her favorite Bible passages is Lamentations 3:22-23.

Mrs. Adriana Payton graduated in 2014 from Fairhaven Baptist College with a Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education with a focus in math and minor in music. Since then, she has taught math at the middle school level as well as teaching early preschool. Her favorite verse is Psalm 27:14.

Mrs. Richardson graduated from Maranatha Baptist University in 2012 with a degree in English Education. She has teaching experience at the Middle School level, as well multi-cultural teaching experiences in China. Mrs. Richardson and her husband, Judd, are both NCS graduates, and have 4 children who are all now NCS Lions themselves!

Mrs. Nicole Smith is a 1998 Bob Jones University graduate with a B. S. in education. Prior to joining the NCS faculty in 2017, Nicole taught at Inter-City Baptist School near Detroit, MI, and Bob Jones Elementary School in Greenville, SC. She and her husband, Dave, have five children and are actively involved in Westerville Bible Church.

Mrs. Trent graduated from Commonwealth Baptist College in 2012 and has more than 14 years of teaching experience, including multi-cultural teaching experiences in both Japan and Romania.

High School Math

Mr. Mayton graduated from Ohio Dominican University in 2012, where he then went to serve in a number of different ministry roles – one of which was NCS! Mr. Mayton is a well-loved and recognized face for many of our NCS students, as he extensively substitute taught at NCS in both short term and long term roles for over 2 years. Jonathan and his wife, Erin, have 2 children, who are currently attending NCS in the lower Elementary.

Mr. Jeff McLravy graduated from Bob Jones University with a BS in Accounting in 1984. He is a retired CPA with experience working in public accounting and many years working at Nationwide Insurance and most recently, American Electric Power. Jeff was in Northside’s first graduating class. A favorite scripture passage is I Peter 1:3-5.

Miss Jodi Meyer graduated in 1999 from Bob Jones University with a B.A. in English and a minor in Public Relations Journalism. She was a student at Northside for 13 years and graduated in 1995. Her service as a teacher at Northside began in 1999. Jodi's favorite verse is John 16:33.

History, Speech, Drama

Mr. Brock Miller earned a BA and an MA in communication studies from Bob Jones University.  He spent five years as a member of the communication faculty at both Bob Jones University and at Northland International University. Brock teaches American History, Geography, World History, U.S. History, Government, and Economics. He also teaches the senior speech class and the high school drama classes. He directs the high school spring musical as well. Brock met his wife, Amy, during college; and they have two daughters at Northside, Ashlyn and Laurel.

Mrs. Emily Stout graduated from Cedarville University with a Bachelor of Arts in Multi-Age Spanish Education and a Minor in Bible. She has participated in study abroad programs and cultural immersion experiences, where she gained valuable communication skills and a great appreciation for Spanish culture. She student-taught in Quito, Ecuador. She is from Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Science Teacher

Mrs. Kim Troutner graduated in 1988 from Miami University with a B.S in Biological Science Education. After teaching for three years in Worthington she became a stay-at-home mom to raise her three children. Prior to NCS, she spent six years working for Worthington High Schools as a Special Education Aide and a Science Academic Assistant, tutoring all levels and subjects in science.

Pastor Brad Jury, the Secondary Chapel Coordinator and Junior & Senior Bible teacher graduated from Bob Jones University in 1999 and serves as the Senior Pastor of Providence Baptist Church of Westerville. His favorite Bible verse is Phil. 3.10. He also serves as the State Minister for the Capitol Commission of Ohio. He and his wife, Jennifer, have four children enrolled at Northside.

9th & 10th Grade Bible

Pastor Hunter Sipe is an ordained pastor of 7 years and has ministered in Columbus, OH and Greenville, SC. He has a Master’s degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Knox Theological Seminary in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He is currently planting Good Shepherd Bible Church in Blacklick. Hunter and his wife, Nikki, have three children: Finn, Shiloh and Louisa.

Pastor Matthew Vanderwarker is the senior pastor of Berean Bible Church in Dublin. He earned his B.A. in 1997 and his M.S. in 2004 from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. In 2015, he earned an M.B.S. from Virginia Beach Theological Seminary. Matt has 3 children at NCS.

Mrs. Kathy Corey graduated in 1973 from Bob Jones University with a B.S. in Art Education and a minor in English. Her service at Northside began in 1982. She had previously taught at Lanakila Baptist School in Hawaii, Maili Bible School in Hawaii, and School for the Deaf in Puerto Rico. Her favorite verse is II Chronicles 20:12b.

Mr. Leach previously served at NCS for 24 years, followed by 17 years at Columbus Academy.

Dr. Jerome Maxwell graduated in 1959 from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Music Education. He also received an M.A. in Vocal Pedagogy and additional studies in school administration in 1964 from The Ohio State University. His service at Northside began in 1984. He had previously taught two years at Johnson Park Middle School in Columbus, 16 years at Walnut Ridge High School in Columbus, and was the Vocal Music Supervisor for Columbus Public Schools for seven years. His favorite verse is Psalm 16:8.
