Northside Christian School: Parent Fellowship Organization (PFO)

The Parent Fellowship Organization (PFO) exists to provide fellowship opportunities within the Northside Christian community, promote service and commitment to the school and to assist the administration and teachers as they endeavor to provide quality Christian education.

Open, general meetings are held quarterly to brainstorm new ideas and gain insight from the parents of our students. Please check the events calendar for meetings, dates and activities.

This group, led by Ruth Zimmerman, meets monthly to pray for the needs of our school, our teachers and our students.

Boo-Hoo Breakfasts

These are held twice during the school year. In the fall, we help parents of Pre-K and Kindergarten students "let go" for the first time. In the spring, we support our Senior Class parents as they prepare to send their students to college and say farewell to Northside.

Adopt-a-Plantbed

In order to keep our school looking its best, parents have the opportunity to adopt a space to care for and beautify. Regular clean-up days are scheduled throughout the year for weeding and cleaning. This is a great family project.

Family Fun Nights

These are special events planned for specific grades to enjoy fellowship with each other . In the past we have held game nights, roller skating parties and pizza parties.

Candy Cane Festival

This festival, held in November, allows area crafters and vendors to showcase their wares while we show the public what Northside has to offer. It is a wonderful family activity and an essential fundraiser for PFO activities.

Spirit Week is celebrated twice during the school year (once for fall sports and again for winter sports). The entire school is involved in contests, dress-up days and cheering for our Northside Lions.

Teacher Appreciation

Each month, teacher birthdays are celebrated with a staff luncheon provided by a group of parents. The teachers look forward to this meal each month. In the spring, our teachers are honored with a week long celebration including treats, appreciation notes, flowers and a general outpouring of love.

Classroom Assistance

Some of our teachers and staff need extra help whether it's grading papers, assembling weekly folders, repairing books, helping with programs or chaperoning field trips. This is another great way to meet other parents and get to know what's going on at Northside.

Ohio State University Concessions

We have the opportunity to work concessions for various athletic and non-athletic events at Ohio State. These concessions generate much needed funds to operate other PFO activities and provide a great chance to meet other parents. Contact Teresa LaFollette for more information.

In times of bereavement or illness, this group organizes meals and assistance for both Northside faculty and Northside families.

Assisting the Athletic Department

Parents are always needed to help with concessions during games at Northside or to help with stats, sound, parking and transportation.
