Mrs. Luanne Hacker graduated from The Ohio State University majoring in Elementary Education. She has taught 2nd grade, 2nd and 3rd combined, and Kindergarten. Her service at Northside began in 1980.

Mrs. Marcie Reagan graduated in 1986 from Bob Jones University with a B.S. in Speech Education and a minor in English. She began teaching at Northside in 2004. She served as a substitute teacher in Michigan and Ohio. Her favorite verse is I Corinthians 10:31.

Mrs. Joy Haines graduated in 1983 from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College with a B.S. in Bible and another B.S. in Secondary Education. Her service at Northside began in 2000. She had previously taught at Faith Baptist Christian School in St. Paul, MN. Her favorite Bible verse is Romans 5:8. 

 
Myers, Jayne
3rd Grade

Jayne Myers graduated from The Ohio State University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early and Middle Childhood Studies. She completed her field placement in Columbus City Schools and spent several years at Grace Early Childhood Center working with many different aged children. She was married this July to Frankie Meyers and attends Grace Polaris Church with her husband.

Mrs. Linda Norris has a B.S. in Elementary Education from Northland Baptist Bible College. She taught for three years before she became a stay-at-home mom. During her 17 years at home with her five children she kept her passion to teach fresh through a home tutor business. In answer to her prayer, God put Linda back into the classroom in 2005. After two years God provided a teaching position at Pioneer Christian School in Dunbar, WI. During her five years at Pioneer she had the privilege of teaching first and second grade as well as mentoring college students preparing to teach in their own classrooms. Psalm 78:5-7 are some of her favorite verses.

Intermediate Teacher

Elaine Faieta began teaching at Northside in 2015. She is a 1988 graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.S. in education. Previously, she taught at Calvary Baptist Academy in Alabama and Liberty Christian Academy in Columbus. In addition, Elaine homeschooled her five daughters for many years. One of her favorite Bible passages is Lamentations 3:22-23.

Casandra Merken received her Bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech in Zoology and Chemistry. She received her Masters’ Degree from Washington University of St. Louis in Speech and Hearing Services. She has worked in research and taught at the college level. She also co-authored the book Beyond Classical: The Next Step in Christian Education, and an article in the Journal of Agriculture Food Chemistry in 2001.

Mrs. Yorty is the Reading and History teacher for grades 4-6, and runs the latchkey program afterschool. Mrs. Yorty started the latchkey program when her children were attending NCS and she was returning to college for her elementary education degree and Reading Certification from Ohio Dominican University. She has three children who have graduated from or been closely associated with NCS during their high school years. She has also been actively involved in children’s ministries at Calvary Bible Church for over 20 years.

Bible Teacher

Pastor Conn is an Assistant Pastor at Calvary Bible Church.  He teaches Bible at NCS.  A native to central Ohio, Michael treasures the people and places of the Midwest and especially enjoys ministering to our college students and singles at Calvary Bible Church. Michael came to Christ at a young age and exhibited a sensitive heart for ministry throughout his growing up years. After finishing a B.A. in Bible, Michael went on to complete an M.A. in Ministry from Bob Jones University in 2015. While at BJU, he met his wife, Irene, and the two were married in June, 2015.

Mrs. Kathy Corey graduated in 1973 from Bob Jones University with a B.S. in Art Education and a minor in English. Her service at Northside began in 1982. She had previously taught at Lanakila Baptist School in Hawaii, Maili Bible School in Hawaii, and School for the Deaf in Puerto Rico. Her favorite verse is II Chronicles 20:12b.

Brad Jury, the Secondary Chapel Coordinator and Junior - Senior Bible teacher graduated from Bob Jones University in 1999 and serves as the Senior Pastor of Providence Baptist Church of Westerville.  His favorite Bible verse is Phil. 3.10.  He also serves as the State Minister for the Capitol Commission of Ohio.  He and his wife Jennifer have four children enrolled in Northside.

Mr. Brian Leland graduated in 1991 from Bob Jones University with a B.S. in Social Studies Education and a minor in Political Science. Brian graduated from Northside in 1987. He began his most recent service at Northside in 2005. He had previously taught 5 years at Schaumburg Christian School in Schaumburg, IL; 2 years at Northside teaching 4th Grade and 7 years at Fayette Christian School in Washington C.H., OH. His favorite verse is I Corinthians 10:13.

Dr. Howard Merken is a Bible school graduate and received his PhD in Chemistry from Texas Tech.  He has worked in research and taught at the college level. Brock Miller earned a BA and a MA in communication studies from Bob Jones University.  He spent five years as a member of the communication faculty at both Bob Jones University and at Northland International University. In addition to his business manager duties at NCS, he teaches the senior speech class, the high school drama classes, and he directs the high school spring play. Brock met his wife, Amy, during college; and they have two daughters at Northside, Ashlyn and Laurel.

Nicole Smith, NCS parent and Westerville Bible Church member, teaches seventh, eighth, and ninth grade social studies. Mrs. Smith is a Bob Jones University graduate and previously taught at Inner City Baptist School in Detroit, MI, and Bob Jones Elementary School in Greenville, SC.

Mrs. Stout graduated from Cedarville University with a Bachelor of Arts in Multi-Age Spanish Education and a Minor in Bible. She has participated in study abroad programs and cultural immersion experiences, where she gained valuable communication skills and a great appreciation for Spanish culture. She recently returned from a student teaching experience in Quito, Ecuador. She is from Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Mrs. Troutner graduated in 1988 from Miami University with a B.S in Biological Science Education.  After teaching for three years in Worthington she became a stay-at- home mom to raise her three children.  She has spent the last six years working for Worthington High Schools as a Special Education Aide and a Science Academic Assistant, tutoring all levels and subjects in science.

Mrs. Patty Hartman graduated in 1972 from Capital University with a Bachelor of Music Education and a Bachelor of Vocal Performance. She received a Masters of Vocal Pedagogy and Masters of English degrees from The Ohio State University in 1978. Her service at Northside began in 1974. She had previously taught at Newcomerstown Junior High School and Newcomerstown High School in Newcomerstown, OH. Her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13.

Dr. Jerry Maxwell graduated in 1959 from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Music Education. He also received a M.A. in Vocal Pedagogy and additional studies in school administration in 1964 from The Ohio State University. His service at Northside began in 1984.  He had previously taught 2 years at Johnson Park Middle School in Columbus, 16 years at Walnut Ridge High School in Columbus and was the Vocal Music Supervisor for Columbus Public Schools for 7 years. His favorite verse is Psalm 16:8.
